Unwanted Racism

What day and age is it? It’s 2013. We’ve come a long way. How is it possible that racism is still being fought by minorities in first world countries?

This cute advertisement from cheerios is apparently “offensive” to some viewers. The youtube video received many racial comments resulting in youtube having to shut down the comments section. What the fuck is wrong with the world?

    offensive? how ?

Have the people suggested that the fact that the family is a mixture of a black man and a white woman has been deliberately orchestrated to somehow propagate a cosier image of Cheerios? Well, that may probably be true to be honest, but I do not think it could be related to racism.

People are over-sensitive about everything today I guess.. 🙂

I didn’t get what the big deal was. I watched. I didn’t find anything offensive. I personally thank Cheerios for this advertisement. It’s upsetting to me that having sexually provocative commercials get less bad press than commercials showing an interracial household.

  3. People are offended because it is different and it challenges the status quo. In the 1950s interracial marriages were illegal. It may be a while till we see a gay couple in a commercial. The vast majority of american people loved the commercial but the racists and bigots get the press because they were more vocal. Its sad but true. More people who love the commercial like I do should share it.
Post racial america is a myth. We have a lot of work to do. Read more of what I think about racism: http://danielrobertososa.wordpress.com/2013/06/09/racial-voting-and-racial-threat-theory-in-louisiana/
