Rive, Hamburg

Seems as though all I’ve been doing is eating and drinking on my holiday. The grey skies cleared and the sun was shining. No better place for a late lunch than at Rive, the oyster restaurant by the river.

Hello Tzatziki

Eating in Germany requires as much effort as working out. I had a great evening of delicious Greek food that unfortunately I could not completely conquer. However, I did find a new love, tzatziki! Rich yet light, creamy yoghurty mixture with crunchy fresh cucumber! Absolutely phenomenal!

Greek meal 1: Susan 0. Entirely destroyed after eating what would be enough for a small family. Will think about how to work off all the weight I have gained on my short trip here to Bremen on the plane back to Hong Kong. Time for a nice long sleep now. Good night!

Spiked Watermelon

How to make Mondays more interesting? Spike a watermelon!
Making drunk bears last week was too fun! This week I’m feeding my watermelons with vodka. How unreasonable to have to wait 2 days to be able to taste these!!

Date Night

To alleviate my Sunday evening depression, food and entertainment is in order. Finally going to see Hangover 3 for a good laugh. I must say, much better than I expected considering the second one was rather shit. Aside from the bucket of popcorn I stuffed my face with, LN and I had a light meal at Sorriso.

Some fun and games at the children’s arcade to finish the night as Macau’s casinos are too far.

A great finale to the last weekend in Hong Kong before our trip to Europe.

Drunk Bears

Sending my boy to a party means homemade alcoholic treats!
My first batch of vodka gummies.

A failure. How careless of me to forget to put them in the fridge! But I eventually did and the bears merged into one huge piece of jello candy!

Snack Time

I felt like seafood, so I made myself about 15 crayfishes. Yes. What I like, I like a lot of! It’s kind of like a snack at recess… Except bigger! And of course, no one scolds me for ruining my appetite for dinner! : )

Shanghai Food (Again)

The first time you have something you love again in a long time, you suddenly remember how good it is and wonder to yourself why you managed to live without for so long! I’m currently obsessed with xiao long bao dumplings! My third time devouring these balls of deliciousness! Went out of my way to the closest Shanghainese restaurant to my office with some colleagues of mine. Starting to worry about my weight again… but totally worth it!

Lee Fa Yuen

Met my friend RM’s mom tonight! A lovely lady. A pretty female version of RM himself! A very fun evening for everyone especially boyfriend, LN and myself. Moms always embarrass their children a bit whether intended or not. Was nice to hear some childhood stories of RM and of course have a full on Korean BBQ dinner! We are a frequent customer of our neighbourhood Korean restaurant, Lee Fa Yuen. Offers great set meals that are flexible if you would like to substitute a particular dish. Good start to the week!

Wu Kong

After a lazy yet tiring day at the beach I was up for trying something new. LN and I normally go to our favourite restaurants again and again and we never get sick or it! But feeling adventurous I wanted a change. That something new was Wu Kong Shanghainese Restaurant.

Friendly service, good food, spacious and with a view! My favourite xiao long bao dumpling was a bit disappointing; the minced meat inside had bits of cartilage in it. I don’t think that was intended. Still a nice dinner date with my boyfriend nonetheless.
